STUDY TOUR IN KECSKEMÉT
Dean Dr. József Kárpáti extended an invitation to students in the Regional and Environmental Economics MA program at the Economic Geography and Urban Marketing Centre of the John von Neumann University in Budapest to participate in a study tour to Kecskemét on May 26, 2026. The distinctive nature of this class is evidenced by its composition, which includes 22 international students hailing from a diverse range of countries, predominantly from the African and Central Asian regions. The student body is comprised of representatives from nations such as Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. The program, therefore, furnished a multifaceted opportunity for interaction, not only from a professional standpoint but also from a cultural vantage point. The students embarked on a guided tour of the primary campus facilities, followed by a visit to the City Hall of Kecskemét, following lunch. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Csilla Gesztesné Tordas for organizing this interesting program. During the tour, students had the opportunity to engage with one of the university's visiting researchers, participating in their ongoing studies. Anna Szczepanska-Przekota, a researcher at the Koszalin University of Technology, is studying the investment and financial behavior of young adults. She is planning to expand this project to Hungary following her research in Poland. This collaboration also presents an exciting opportunity for the Faculty of Economics at Neumann János University, as the development of small businesses' financial culture—including financial knowledge, behavior, and attitudes—and its interdisciplinary study is a strategically important area for the region's development.
